Fashion and Textile Design
Samantha Macdonald is a fashion student from the Scottish borders, specialises in menswear.
A minimalistic and monochromatic aesthetic combine with an intricate concept, Macdonald has produced work that is inspired by a number of different plans and instruction manuals.
Exploring the functionality of garments by experimental approaches, she has researched into developing a collection of garments that are accompanied by instruction manuals/plans that allow the consumer to construed and deconstruct the garments. Macdonald has also developed a concept of allowing garments to lay open and be 2- dimensional and transform to a 3-dimensional functional garment.
