Molly Ines Black’s practice is based primarily around DJing electronic music and working within sonic arts, performance and teaching. This includes practicing DJing through live performance, radio performance and teaching others how to for the purposes of skill sharing, working mainly with digital equipment and media.
The sonic arts element is related to DJing, as it primarily compiles found media and externally sourced sounds from various archives to produce new outcomes, using software such as Ableton to construct new pieces of audio. The main themes which come forward in her work are sound, place and site-specific working, and community engaged practice.
