Fashion and Textile Design
Kristin Brown’s main aim for her graduate collection was not to use any fabric, only using pre-loved and found clothing.
Her work centers around the pilgrimage to her dreamed Planet B, and what we would wear there, knowing only what we know with what is available. While the collection is quite fun due to the influences of Sontag’s Notes on Camp, she wants to use the collection as a social commentary of how we interact with clothing and that we need to change our current habits – fashion is the second biggest polluter on Earth, after oil.
After all, there is no Planet B.
