Fashion and Textile Design
Jenifer Innes is a fashion and textiles student, from the Highlands of Scotland, who mainly focuses on textiles for womenswear with masculine undertones within her final collection. She specializes in the use of mixed media textiles, where laser cutting and interweaving have been prominent throughout. Within her final year collection, she investigated architecture, looking at buildings and considering them in different angles, almost like seeing things in a different perspective.
She was inspired by the different shapes and looking closely at surface texture within the architecture, this fuelled her project and informed her collection, stimulating her textiles and silhouettes. She took her colour palettes from Aberdeen, in which she lived for the duration of her university career, she used tonal grey’s and heather greys within these buildings to connect her final collection to the granite city.
