James Feeley’s work explores the relationships between strong thematic imagery and the use of nostalgia.
Often working primarily with 35mm film he chooses to use this format to build strong storylines. Using film, he builds upon nostalgia and in this he tries to create a sense of attachment to his imagery hoping that the connection with the viewer makes a more impactful, lasting image.
He feels that the whole process from taking the image, developing and creating the final frame adds a personal touch that cannot be replicated digitally.
