Beth Wards’ paintings stem from her exploration of the shapes, patterns, and forms found in the unruly world of nature. She draws influence from her photography, particularly the images taken in the hot houses at Kew Gardens, London.
She translates these images into rhythmic and colourful paintings where she orchestrates the paint into carefully considered abstract compositions. Combining the recognisable presence of the plants and foliage with a more energetic and intuitive manipulation of the paint, Wards has created a sequence of paintings that celebrate the magnificent visuals that the world of nature provides.
