RGU Art and Heritage 2020 Purchase Award Nominee

bp Deisgn Award Nominee

In preparation for her future career as an industrial designer, Daisy Vivian wanted to work directly with industry professionals, improve her knowledge of the field and learn new design skills. As a result, this year, she has taken a live brief from an Aberdeen based robotics company.

The project is to design a housing for a controller/scanner for an intelligent fabric maintenance robotic arm for use offshore. Her product has been designed to fit into the workflow of a field technician; ergonomic and fit for the offshore environment. The product’s aesthetic bridges the gap between industrial design and consumer electronics.
