Alicja Rodzik is a collector of memories. Accumulating distant memories from long-dead family members in her native Poland, Rodzik examines the subject of mourning and absence. She embarks on a journey through images excavated from a world that no longer exists, releasing hidden emotions and exposing dark fantasies that reveal the fragility of human life.
She has a fascination with abandoned objects, and breathing new life into them, through instinct and empathy, gives these objects a new form of expression. Rodzik freely combines textiles, sculpture, drawing and photography in her works, combining both found and personal stories, which become part of this peculiar game between life and death. This business of living.
