The photographic medium -analogue and digital -has become one of the main means of visual communication. At the same time, the interpretation of photographic narratives is an increasingly complex enterprise.
The course aims to provide opportunities for developing analytical and practical skills that are of contemporary relevance. Our view is that practitioners should have reasoning and contextual competencies to support their practical and technical photographic professionalism.
“Photography is a thoroughly creative enterprise in both the production and in the consumption. Originality and innovative expression are at the core of the practice of our BA Photography students. Over the last year, this group has demonstrated a rich diversity of talent and specialisation in producing their portfolios.
They have displayed interests in a wide range of themes and always with a positive willingness to explore and question current movements and ideas. Their enthusiasm and engagement have been articulated in this intriguing exhibition so that the visualisations present some compelling and often innovative comments about the changing world that surrounds us.
We hope that you will enjoy and appreciate their professional and diverse body of work produced at this time of transition, which the cohort articulated through creative practice. Their lively and spirited portfolio work has investigated the meanings that are given and attributed within photographic culture.”
